With the Q2 (and its Q2C variant), QIDI takes the Bambu P1S segment head-on: a compact enclosed CoreXY, fast (600 mm/s), 370 °C nozzle, AI camera and air filtration — at an aggressive price. It's the Q1 Pro's successor, and the brand's new enclosed "best buy."

— Positioning

The Q2 replaces the Q1 Pro as QIDI's affordable enclosed machine. Above it, the Plus 4 offers more volume and a stronger chamber; alongside, the Bambu P1S bets on ecosystem. The Q2 answers with 370 °C and an active chamber at P1S prices.

In brief

Enclosed CoreXY 270 × 270 × 256 mm, 600 mm/s, 370 °C nozzle, auto leveling (nozzle-as-probe), AI camera and air filtration. The key difference is the heated chamber: active (65 °C) on the Q2, absent on the "lite" Q2C. Budget ≈ $499 (Q2) / ≈ $649 as a QIDI Box Combo; the Q2C is cheaper.

The real difference

It all comes down to the active heated chamber. The Q2 keeps it (65 °C): it reliably prints ABS, ASA, nylon and carbon composites — a genuine pocket "technical materials" machine. The Q2C drops it ("C" = the trimmed version): it remains an excellent fast enclosed CoreXY, but PLA/PETG-oriented; ABS/ASA will warp like on any passive enclosed machine.

— The rule of thumb

Targeting ABS/ASA/nylon? Get the Q2 (active chamber). Staying on PLA/PETG and want the lowest price? The Q2C is plenty.

QIDI Box & multicolor

Both accept the QIDI Box, the in-house multi-spool feeder (AMS/CFS equivalent): up to 16 colors by chaining four boxes. Like any single-nozzle system, every color change purges filament — expect the usual waste (see our multicolor guide). The Combo version includes a QIDI Box.

Strengths & limits

Strengths

  • Price/capability: 370 °C + active chamber (Q2) at P1S prices.
  • Fast CoreXY: 600 mm/s, Klipper, nozzle-probe auto-level.
  • AI camera & air filtration: monitoring and indoor comfort.
  • Optional multicolor: QIDI Box, up to 16 colors.

Limits

  • Q2C has no active chamber: PLA/PETG only, no reliable ABS/ASA.
  • Mid volume: 270 mm; for larger, see the X-Max 3.
  • Ecosystem: less "slick" than Bambu (Klipper, but software finish trails).
  • Multicolor waste: inherent to the single-nozzle QIDI Box.

Who's it for?

The Q2 is one of the best affordable "technical materials" enclosed machines — a serious alternative to the P1S if you target ABS/ASA/nylon. The Q2C is the smart pick for fast, enclosed PLA/PETG on a budget. For more volume and a stronger chamber, step up to the Plus 4; for large format, the X-Max 3.

— In one line

QIDI's enclosed of the moment: the Q2 for technical materials at P1S prices, the Q2C for the cheapest fast PLA/PETG.
