Creality has one quirk: its catalog is huge, and several ranges overlap. Between the historic Ender, the new Hi series, the K1 CoreXY machines and the high-end K2, it's easy to get lost. This guide sorts it out: what each series is for, what really separates them (motion, chamber, multicolor), and how to choose by budget and materials. Simplified: Ender = affordable Cartesian entry · Hi = simple multicolor entry · K1 = fast enclosed CoreXY · K2 = high-end CoreXY + CFS · CR = large format. The higher you go, the more speed, thermal envelope and automation you get.

Creality's ranges in 2026

Creality's recent through-line is multicolor via the CFS (Creality Filament System), now offered from the entry level (Hi, Ender-3 V4) all the way to the top (K2). The other is automation: auto leveling, input shaping, cameras and AI on the higher models. Here are the five families to know:

  • Ender — the Cartesian moving-bed ("bed slinger") printers, open and affordable. The historic hobby entry point.
  • Hi — a recent bed slinger that democratizes multicolor and automation at a low price.
  • K1 — the enclosed, fast CoreXY (600 mm/s), for those wanting speed and technical materials.
  • K2 — the high-end CoreXY built around the CFS and large volume.
  • CR — the large format (CR-10, CR-M4) for big parts.

As elsewhere, many models come standalone and as a Combo (with a CFS unit). If multicolor appeals to you, the Combo is almost always better value than adding the CFS later.

Reading between the lines: the real divide is open vs enclosed. Bed slingers (Ender, Hi, CR) excel at PLA/PETG; enclosed CoreXY machines (K1, K2) add the speed, rigidity and chamber that unlock ABS, ASA and composites.

Ender — the Cartesian entry

The series that democratized 3D printing. Open bed slingers — simple, repairable, backed by a massive community. The V3 generation modernized the formula: auto leveling (CR Touch), Sprite direct-drive extruder, dual Z axis and finally decent speeds.

Beginners, tight budgets, tinkerers who like to understand and mod their machine. No chamber means PLA/PETG territory — but for learning and everyday printing, the value is unbeatable.

Hi — the multicolor entry

Launched at CES 2025, the Creality Hi redefines the entry level: a bed slinger (moving bed, like the Enders) but 95% pre-assembled, in die-cast aluminum, and built for multicolor from the start. A 260 × 260 × 300 mm volume, up to 500 mm/s (300 typical), 100 °C bed, all-metal 300 °C hotend, and an optional CFS for 4 spools (up to 16 colors when chained).

It piles on automation to stay simple: strain-gauge leveling, input shaping, pressure-advance tuning, and dual independently-motorized Z screws that correct X-axis tilt. At ≈ $329 (≈ $399 Combo), it's the "all comfort" alternative to an Ender for anyone who wants color without the fuss. Full review →

Families and beginners who want multicolor and peace of mind, without stepping up to a pricier CoreXY. It's a bed slinger: excellent at PLA/PETG, but no chamber for technical materials.

K1 — the fast CoreXY

The K1 series brought Creality into the era of fast, enclosed CoreXY. Enclosed frame, 600 mm/s, Klipper firmware, direct-drive extruder: it's the step up from bed slingers, with an envelope that handles ABS and ASA.

  • K1 SE (≈ $399) — the budget way into CoreXY.
  • K1 (≈ $499) — 220 × 220 × 250 mm, the best price/performance balance of the series.
  • K1C (≈ $599) — "C" for Carbon: tri-metal nozzle for fiber composites, a hardened extruder and a built-in AI camera.
  • K1 Max (≈ $799) — 300 × 300 × 300 mm, lidar + AI camera for first-layer inspection and failure detection.

Makers who want speed and technical materials without the K2 budget. The K1C for carbon composites, the K1 Max if you need volume and the AI sensors.

K2 — the flagship

The K2 range is the top: enclosed CoreXY, die-cast aluminum frame, heated chamber on the higher models, dual cameras, and the whole CFS ecosystem up to 16 colors. Four variants, from the K2 SE (multicolor entry) to the K2 Plus (350 mm, 350 °C nozzle, 120 °C bed).

Who it's for: those who want large volume, high-temperature materials and Creality's most polished integrated multicolor — at the brand's highest price.

CR & large format

When the priority is size rather than speed, the CR series takes over. These are large-format bed slingers, slower but able to swallow very big parts.

  • CR-10 SE (300 × 300 × 400 mm, ≈ $429) — accessible, automated large format.
  • CR-M4 (450 × 450 × 470 mm) — the huge volume for cosplay, props and one-off parts.
— Who it's for

Cosplayers, decorators, large-part prototyping. If volume beats speed and multicolor, this is where to look — though a K2 Plus stays more versatile if the budget allows.

The CFS & multicolor

The CFS (Creality Filament System) is the in-house multi-spool feeder: 4 spools per unit, up to 4 units chained for 16 colors, with dry storage (desiccant + humidity sensor), RFID recognition and auto-relay. It now equips the Hi, the Ender-3 V4, the K1s and the K2s.

Two things to remember, true of all single-nozzle multicolor:

  • Waste: on every color change the nozzle purges the old shade. Expect ~15–40% of filament lost depending on the part. The detail is in our multicolor guide.
