The P2S is the P1S's successor: an enclosed CoreXY at 256 mm that keeps everything that made the old one a success — reliability, speed, AMS support — and adds the comfort it lacked: a touchscreen, AI monitoring and better handling of composite filaments. It's now the single-material workhorse to recommend in the mid-range.
In the P series, just above the P1S. Below the X2D (dual nozzle, lidar). If you won't miss the screen and AI, the P1S is still an excellent buy, often cheaper.
In brief
The P2S is the P1S formula "2.0": it prints ABS and ASA just as well, in color via the AMS, but with a modern interface and smarter visual monitoring. Budget ≈ $549 alone, ≈ $799 as a Combo with the AMS 2.

Strengths
- Touchscreen: a far nicer interface than the P1S's minimal screen.
- AI monitoring: built-in failure detection (spaghetti, etc.).
- Fiber filaments: better handling of reinforced composites.
- Everything else from the P1S: enclosure, fast CoreXY, AMS, Bambu ecosystem.
Limits
- Pricier than the P1S: the gap is mostly about comfort, not raw print quality.
- No lidar: first-layer inspection stays the X2D's domain.
- No active chamber heating: passive heat, like the P1S.
- Multicolor waste: inherent to the single-nozzle AMS (see the multicolor guide).
P2S vs P1S
Same mechanical foundations, same print quality. The P2S adds the touchscreen, AI and fiber support; the P1S stays cheaper. The rule of thumb: if the price gap is small, take the P2S for comfort; if it's large and you're fine with a basic interface, the P1S delivers the same result for less.
Who's it for?
