The H2S is Bambu's most recent large-format release: essentially an H2D stripped of its second head, brought back to a single nozzle. The bet: deliver maximum volume and throughput at the best price, for everyone whose use doesn't justify dual extrusion or the laser.
In the H series, below the H2D (dual nozzle, laser) and above the desktop machines. Bambu pitches it as the "ultimate single-nozzle printer": ~220% of the X1C's volume, ~30% faster.

The large-format single nozzle
The H2S's strength is its volume-per-dollar. By dropping the second head, it offers an H-series print envelope — able to swallow big parts or full plates — for a price well below the H2D. The 350 °C nozzle and heated chamber unlock ABS, ASA, PC, PA and carbon/glass composites; the high throughput makes it a production machine (print farms, workshops, schools).
H2S vs H2D
The difference is the head. The H2D adds a dual nozzle (dual-material, clean soluble supports) and the laser/cutting modules — at a much higher price and more mechanical complexity. The H2S removes all that to keep only the essentials: big volume + throughput + technical materials. If you don't do dual-material or laser, the H2S is the rational choice.
Limits
- Single nozzle: no dedicated soluble support or dual-material; multicolor via the AMS purges (see the multicolor guide).
- Footprint: large and heavy, needs a dedicated spot.
- Overkill for hobby use: for occasional small parts, a desktop machine is plenty.
- Closed ecosystem: like the rest of the Bambu range.
Who's it for?
The H2S is for large volume and production without the H2D premium: print farms, workshops, education, big projects. For dual-material and laser, get the H2D; to stay on a desk, a P1S/P2S. The full picture is in our Bambu lineup guide.
