After the K2 range, Creality is preparing its next step: the K3, which will introduce an automatic nozzle-changing system called KliTek. Unlike many "leaks," the core here comes from Creality itself (official teaser) — but the machine's full spec sheet isn't published yet. Here's the state of play, without extrapolating beyond reason.
Confirmed: KliTek exists (official teaser, May 30, 2026) and will debut on the K3, with an announced Q3 2026 window. Not confirmed: build volume, heated chamber, temperatures, exact date and price.
Where things stand
Creality unveiled KliTek in a reveal video in late May 2026, stating it will first equip the K3, targeting a Q3 2026 release. At this stage, the K3 page is a teaser: no precise date, no price, no full spec sheet. Anything circulating beyond KliTek is therefore speculation.
KliTek, the heart of the K3
KliTek is a nozzle-changing system (not a single-nozzle AMS, nor a "split nozzle"). What Creality confirms:
- It swaps the nozzle assembly (nozzle + hotend + filament tube), not the whole toolhead: less mass to move than a classic toolchanger.
- 4 heads (built for color, CMYK-style).
- Each assembly preheats itself (dedicated PTC element) then clicks into place mid-print, with no operator input.
- ~5 s per nozzle swap; < 15 s for a full color/material change.
- Mixing nozzle sizes within one print: 0.2 / 0.4 / 0.8 mm (fine detail + fast infill).
- XYZ positioning with a claimed repositioning accuracy < 25 µm.
- For flexibles: TPU down to 80A and a claimed TPU speed up to 7×.
Since each material keeps its own nozzle, you avoid the purge of single-nozzle systems (AMS, CFS) — so less waste. And replacing a nozzle assembly reportedly costs about a quarter of a rival's full toolhead.
Confirmed vs unknown
| Confirmed (Creality) | Still unknown |
|---|---|
| KliTek system (nozzle-changer) | Build volume |
| 4 heads, mixing 0.2/0.4/0.8 mm | Heated chamber (yes/no, temp.) |
| ~5 s / < 15 s per change | Max nozzle & bed temp |
| Repositioning < 25 µm | Exact motion / speed |
| Debuts on the K3, Q3 2026 | Price & exact date |
KliTek vs the others
Where does KliTek sit? Between single-nozzle-with-purge and a heavy toolchanger:
- vs AMS / CFS (single-nozzle): KliTek removes the purge (each nozzle is dedicated) — a big waste win.
- vs dual nozzle (H2D/X2D): KliTek targets 4 materials, not 2.
- vs full toolchanger (Prusa XL, Snapmaker U1): KliTek swaps only the nozzle assembly (lighter, cheaper to replace) rather than a whole toolhead.
We place it in our multi-tool printers landscape, which details every approach.
What we can expect
Reasoned speculation — to be confirmed. Given Creality's track record:
- Enclosed CoreXY base likely, in line with the K1/K2.
- Volume probably close to a K1/K2 (220–300 mm), aimed at consumers rather than large format.
- Pricing: with Creality playing aggressive, expect a toolchanger far cheaper than the Prusa XL — the "4 colors, no purge, at Creality prices" pitch.
- Ecosystem: Creality Print / Creality Cloud integration, like the K2 range.
None of this paragraph is official. First machines with a novel mechanism often need a few firmware revisions — we'll judge the K3 on results, not on the promise.
Should you wait for the K3?
If you need to print now, don't wait on a machine with no price or firm date: a K2 (or a Bambu) does the job today. If your priority is waste-free multicolor and you can hold out until late 2026, the K3 is worth watching — especially if Creality delivers on the "affordable toolchanger" promise. We'll update this article as official announcements land.
KliTek is real and promising; the K3 is, for now, a Q3 2026 promise with no price. Worth watching, not worth pre-ordering blind.
